Eligibility Criteria
Eligible:
A foreign national, who
- Was a citizen of India on 26.1.1950, or
- Was citizen of India any time after 26.1.1950, or
-
Belonged to a territory which became part of India after 15.08.1947
His/her children/grandchildren are eligible to be registered as OCI
- Minor children of such persons are eligible to be registered as OCI
-
Foreign spouse of Indian National or India origin (Requirement at least 02
years of Marriage)
Not eligible:
- Persons who have been citizen of Pakistan or Bangladesh.

No person,who or either of whose parents or grandparents or great
grandparents is or had been a citizen of Pakistan, Bangladesh or such
other country as the Central Government
OCI Registration Process
Application from for OCI registration needs to be filled online on the

(For Fresh Application /first timers)
While filling the form at above link applicant must scan and uplaod all the relevant documents (Any option available) which are mentioned below at ‘Documents need to upload’.
After filling the form, the applicant need to save and print the form. A
reference number is generated on the printed form(PDF).This printed form
along with the copies of documents as mentioned below must be submitted at
the Consular Wing, Embassy of India, Vienna, Austria on working days between
0930 Hrs to 1130 hrs .
Applicant has to bring original and photocopies copies of the these documents for verification.
Photograph Specification
Photographs size of 51x51 mm (with 80% coverage of face), without
border and showing full frontal view of applicant's head/shoulder,
white/light background. No glare if wearing glasses is to be uploaded.
Please note that Photographs that do not conform to these standards
will be rejected and may cause a delay in processing the applications.

Note:

Signature/Thumb impression should be confined to the prescribed box. In
case of minor applicants, parents should NOT sign in the box.

Applicant is requested to visit the Consular section of the Embassy of
India with Application original documents and photocopy.

The OCI tableData responsiveTablesite does not have options
specifically for Meldezettle , Statsburgerschaftsnachweis etc., so
kindly upload the above said documents in any available option.

It is advised to get the Apostille and translated copy of the foreign
document.
OCI Card in lieu of PIO
An OCI card can be applied in lieu of valid PIO card at Embassy of India

certificate)

OCI Miscellaneous Services
A fresh OCI will only issued when new passport is issued after completing 20
years of age/ change of personal particulars viz. name, father's name,
nationality and Loss/Damage of OCI card. They can select
Chargeable service under Misc. Service.
All other applicants in case of change of Passport can apply for the
Gratis service
under Misc. Service.

Bio-Metrics
From December 18, 2018 on wards, the enrolment of bio-metrics data
(capture of facial recognition and finger-printing data) has been made
compulsory by competent authority for all the OCI applicants (except
children below 12 years and persons over 65 years).

Note: A Consular Surcharge of Euro 3.00 on account of Indian Community
Welfare Fund (ICWF) is levied on all types of OCI applications. An
additional charge of 02% will be levied on card payments.
Tacking Application Status and OCI collection time:-
Collection Timings :- 1600-1700 hrs
The applicants can track for status of OCI card at https://ociservices.gov.in/statusEnqury
Once status shows that OCI is received in Vienna , Applicant can come and
collect the OCI card with the help of Payment receipt.
Kindly note that for collecting OCI for Misc. services and OCI in lieu of
PIO applicant one must bring old OCI / PIO card as well. In case of
minors, either of the parents can collect on their behalf of minor
applicant with the valid receipt.
Important points to remember:-
(a) The embassy of India, Vienna reserves the right to ask for additional
documents if required on a case to case basis.
(b) The embassy will not
print OCI applications for applicants and has no provision for filling up
the OCI application form.
(c) Foreign military personnel either serving
or retired and persons holding diplomatic /service/official passports are
not eligible for grant of OCI.
(d) Civil govt. servants working in
ministry of defence as I.T engineers/civil contractors are not entitled for
OCI.
(e) Any error in the application made by the applicant shall not
be accepted. If the OCI get printed with wrong details the applicant is
responsible for it
