Proposed Statement by India on Agenda Item 7 and 8(e) at IAEA BOG

Mr. Chairperson,

In the interest of time, our statement covers both Agenda Item 7 and Agenda Item 8(e).

India has taken careful note of the recent reports of the Director General on “NPT Safeguards with Islamic Republic of Iran” and on “Verification and Monitoring in the Islamic Republic of Iran in the light of UNSCR 2231”.

We value the Director General’s efforts to implement the safeguards mandate of the agency as well as verification and monitoring activities in Iran.

India reiterates its full support to peaceful resolution of all unresolved safeguards issues through dialogue and diplomacy. We urge Iran to cooperate constructively with the IAEA to resolve all outstanding issues in a satisfactory manner.
