The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts, India is organising parallel shows i.e. KHILONA -2022 (India Toys & Games Fair) and India GI Fair-2022 from 26-28 August,2022 at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The 1st India Toy Fair-2021,on virtual platform, was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the year 2021 to boost the toy manufacturing industry in India and to encourage Aatmarnirbhar Bharat and vocal for local campaign. 1,074 exhibitors showcased their products at the virtual exhibition and over 2 million visitors from over 110 countries and 30 Indian States and UTs visited the virtual Toy Fair.
A geographical indication (GI) is a sign used on products that have a specific geographical origin and possess qualities or a reputation that are due to that origin. GI tagged products are "Invaluable treasures of Incredible India" and aims to build confidence amongst the buying community. There are around 390+ products tagged as GI in the country out of which 200+ are handicrafts & handlooms and 120 are agricultural based.
